Pet Lodge Adoptions, a non-profit animal sanctuary and adoption organization, had its rent raised to $1950 per month! With that kind of rent, they can buy a facility. They have to move by July 31st and are in need of donations for a down payment. They also need volunteers to help them move.
Pet Lodge also desperately needs funds to pay for surgery for Czar, a seven year old doberman with wobblers syndrome. Another animals in need is Addison, a nine year old Australian Cattle Dog who lost eyesight in both eyes due to glaucoma.
For over six years, Pet Lodge Adoptions has found homes for hundreds of dogs, and has become a home for numerous other unadoptable pets.
UNLIKE HUMANE SOCIETIES AND ANIMAL CONTROL AGENCIES, PLA DOES NOT EUTHENIZE UNADOPTABLE PETS. ALSO, PLA DOES NOT TURN AWAY ANIMALS DUE TO HANDICAP OR PHYSICAL OR SITUATIONAL DIFFICULTY.
The high cost of veterinary bills, along with maintenance and care for over 35 animals, including 22 dogs, has forced Tracy Brooks, director of PLA, to issue a plea for assistance from the general community. The media has carried stories on PLA animals in the past, including a feature on Logan, a neglected Siberian Huskey who was featured on a Dogs in your Neighborhood segment. Logan has since become a resident of PLA.
Immediate funds are needed to keep the doors to PLA, an invaluable community resource, open.
